A GLOBAL (Unofficial) World Cup ANTHEM - BORN IN TORONTO

Event

How the Vision Began

The Eleven Project did not start as a large concept. It began months ago during a conversation with my brother and collaborator, Dr. Danici, while we were filming an Inside the Art podcast episode. He shared an idea that stayed with me. He said we should create something that speaks to the World Cup. Something that brings artists together the same way football brings countries together. Something global, authentic, and meaningful. That moment planted the seed and the rest unfolded naturally.

Recording at Iguana Studios

When the time came to record, we gathered at Iguana Recording Studios, a prestigious Toronto studio where many Grammy-nominated artists have recorded. The energy in that space was special from the moment we stepped in. Eleven artists walked through the doors, each representing different cultures, genres, and continents. The number eleven instantly felt right. Eleven players form a team on the pitch. Eleven artists formed a team in the studio. It became a powerful symbol and the heart of the anthem.

My Personal Connection to Football

Football has shaped my life in ways that go beyond the game. I have been part of the organizing committee for the African Cup of Nations in Ontario for the past two years. I am a striker. I have played for several teams across the province including Team Cameroon and my current club, Sante North York. The sport has taught me resilience, teamwork, pride, belonging, and what it means to carry a community on your back. Those experiences are woven into this anthem.

Why This Song Matters

The lyrics carry a message that the world needs. One world. One love. One cup. Together we stand. We are champions. Raise your flags. Feel the fire. From the streets to the stadiums. Every word reflects the spirit of football. It also reflects the lived experiences of the communities I serve as a social worker, professor, consultant, and as the Executive Director of the Black Creek Youth Initiative. Music and community work have always been connected in my life. The Eleven Project brought both worlds together in a powerful way.

A True Creative Collaboration

Working alongside Danici as co-executive producer made this project what it is. We spent long hours shaping the sound, refining the vocals, and making sure the anthem carried the energy of a global moment. Dat So Aj captured the visuals and brought the whole vision to life. What we created together was more than a track. It was a moment of unity, creativity, and shared purpose.

The Launch

When we released the song, we captured the energy with the caption:
“Here we go. The unofficial World Cup theme song. Eleven artists. A soccer team. Different genres. Different continents. A global anthem.”

This project represents Toronto, Africa, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, and every corner of the world that lives and breathes football. It celebrates the global community as we prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Gratitude and Next Steps

I am grateful for the artists who trusted the vision and for everyone who has streamed, shared, and supported the song. The Eleven Project is only the beginning. It is our offering to the world and a reminder that music and football can unite people in ways that nothing else can.

One world. One love. One cup.
Champions when we stand together.
